You Don’t Have To Know Everything — You Just Need to be Correct
I work a regular job as a project manager. My boss stopped by my desk and asked me if I had time to give an orientation of MS Project to a couple new project coordinators.
I don’t use MS Project on a daily basis, but I’ve used it enough in my past life to definitely do a presentation.
“No problem”, I said — or so I thought.
After working on a presentation for a few days I was ready to go.
My presentation was in a small conference room with a projected screen — so I wasn’t giving a presentation to a large group — which was better for my nerves.
After I started the presentation and got to one point and one of the coordinators had a simple question.
“This is an easy answer.”
I stopped the presentation and started to illustrate the answer to her question — but the the program wouldn’t do what it was supposed to do. I tried again and again. Rapidly going through the scenario repeatedly in vain — desperately hoping for a different outcome.

They were both looking at me — I thought I knew what they were saying — this guy doesn’t know MS Project!
