Writing a Medium Article with ChatGPT: My Brutally Honest Review

Come on, fess up if you want to publish an article or book with the push of a button.

The process to get that outcome with AI is just starting.

My goal was to have ChatGPT write an article in my voice.

As a test, I created an article with ChatGPT.

Here is what I discovered.

Pay for quality

The first thing I did was pay for ChatGPT 4. There are many reasons to pay for this subscription. They are worth it if you’re serious about using it as a writing tool.

  1. ChatGPT 3.5 is more inclined to daydream or go off on weird tangents. These are known as “AI hallucinations”. ChatGPT 4 adheres to the data and is more reliable.
  2. ChatGPT 3.5 can only remember 8,000 words and ChatGPT 4 can remember 64,000 words. I wanted to analyze entire stories without being restricted by the amount of data I needed to input.
  3. ChatGPT 4 acts more like a human brain and it can mimic a writing voice which is perfect for this experiment.

I turned off image generation and web searching in ChatGPT since it increased the speed. Rarely do you need to turn off functionality in…
