No, it’s not about not saving enough for retirement

Kevin James Amazon special Irregardless has a hilarious bit about how middle-class Americans fear everything. James says we are terrified about everything — even the diseases we don’t have yet — such as being diagnosed that we may have “pre-diabetes”. It’s a disease we don’t have but we fear it!

These observations hit home and I realized I had some crazy fears.

Lucy: Or maybe you have pantophobia. Do you think you have pantophobia?

Charlie Brown: What’s pantophobia?

Lucy: The fear of everything!

Charlie Brown: THAT’S IT!

Pediophobia — The Fear Of Dolls

My wife has some creepy dolls from her childhood and they freak me out. Apparently I’m not alone. Pediophobia is a subtype of Automatonophobia, which is a condition where the person is afraid anything that mimics a living human being that is an inanimate object.

Chucky doesn’t scare me.

The Leprechaun doesn’t either.

Throw a toy doll at me that has no eyes and hair and I’m running for the hills.
