I read through Dan Koe’s latest book — The Art of Focus: Find Meaning, Reinvent Yourself and Create Your Ideal Future. After reading I decided to distill it down to 10 points that resonated with me.

1As the book’s title alludes to — if you want out of the mundane day to day humdrum then the solution is to relentlessly focus.

2Having goals is a key, if you don’t have goals you are pursuing the goals that society has dictated to you.

3If you are building a business today it should have three parts: your brand, the content you provide and the product you create.

4A Universal tenet of life is struggle. If we want to break the bonds we are currently being held back by then there needs to be concentration on massively interrupting the way that your life is currently.

5To avoid what could be in the future — create an “anti-vision”. Write down every little item you do not want in your future, why you don’t want this thing and make a plan on how you will avoid it.
