Changes to my Writing Schedule After Writing a Story a Day for a Week

Whew, I’m out of breath…

I met my short-term goal and published a story a day for a week, but after reviewing a couple blogs of writers who publish lots on Medium like Carl Jeffers — I decided to make some changes so that I can keep hitting my goal of publishing a story a day.

According to what I read there is the long format (700–1200 words I assume) and the short format (which falls in under that category).

This article falls under the short format category and I’ll be publishing a long format story tomorrow.

I’ll probably alternate days with short formats every other day since I need time to type, review and edit the long format story. Also, there isn’t anything prohibiting me from doing two short format stories in a day — but with working 9–5 it’s a stretch!

The other idea I like is having a lot of ideas fleshed out and ready to go. I have a list of ideas, but they don’t have photos or an outline. I usually jot down ideas while I’m walking in the morning, but having a lot in the bank would be killer on those days I just can’t get anything good onto the paper.

It’s all going to be a learning process and from what I see there are a lot of talented writers on this platform I can pick and choose…
