5 Woes of Tall People
“Height Challenged” is the PC term
I’m 6'5" and my height can be a hinderance. Shorter people look at me with envy and exclaim “If only I could be as tall as you!”.
Well, you don’t want to be as tall as me.
I’ll tell you why.
Tall People Can’t Fit into Vehicles
Those small, shiny red sports cars that catch your eye? If you’re tall, you won’t fit in them, so keep looking for that unattractive mid-size sedan. If you’re able to even get into that sports car your knees will be crammed against the dash and your elbow will be in the back seat (if they have one). Don’t get into an accident — you may lose your legs since they will be intertwined with the engine of the car. I actually look like a Simpsons clip when driving and getting out of a small car. Legs first all akimbo and then sliding my skinny frame past the door.
Even SUVs have issues with back seat legroom. They are too small even with the seat pulled up unless they are the vehicles that have 3 row seating. If the person wants to recline back — well, they are looking up your nose as you tower above them.
Airplanes keep getting smaller every year as they try to stuff more passengers in a confined space. My knees almost touch the back of the seat in front of me on most flights. If…
