Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery

The Millionaire Mind was a breakthrough book by Thomas J. Stanley, Ph.D. that was a New York Times Bestseller in 2001, but the lessons cited in the book can apply to what the collective “we” experience as part-time writers.

Hopefully we all will become successful through our writings, books and classes — but it takes an immense amount effort and dedication that most entrepreneurs also mimic in their chosen fields. Carving out time to create, exploring ideas, trying different subjects are similar to what a small business owner goes through when they are cultivating their own profession. We just do it in small increments each day and around a full-time job — feeding the dream takes grit, determination and a whole bunch of patience.

Budding writers experiences correlate to what The Millionaire Mind cites as “critical success factors” for millionaires.

Investing in my Own Business

Constantly sitting down each day and writing, learning from others that are successful and honing your craft as a writer — these are investments in your own business as a writer.
